Flatiron School is excited to announce our ongoing partnership with Amazon to develop technical course offerings as part of their Career Choice program. This initiative provides education and upskilling opportunities to more than 300,000 employees in the U.S. in an effort to support continuing education and career advancement.

In February 2021, Flatiron School and Amazon partnered to launch two part-time tech courses for Amazon employees – Software Engineering and Cybersecurity. Each of these immersive courses were created utilizing Flatiron School’s key ingredients for a student’s success: award-winning curriculum, dedicated instructors, educational coaching, and career placement services. Driven employees learn the skills to be successful in entry-level technical roles both inside and outside of Amazon.

During the first year of the partnership, Amazon employees from across 38 fulfillment centers enrolled, and 270 Associates graduated as Software Engineers and Cybersecurity Analysts. All graduates have the opportunity to work with Flatiron School’s Career Services department to pursue new job opportunities, and the program saw its first two job placements within a week of graduation!

Amazon has renewed the courses for 2022 and added an additional Data Analytics course to the offering. Flatiron School and Amazon are targeting over 800 enrolled employees in the 2022 cohorts.

In addition to developing the two courses, Flatiron School and Amazon created the Commit to Interview Campaign to help reskilled graduates find tech positions outside of Amazon. Partners get access to a high volume of qualified, diverse students aiming to land entry level positions by the end of the year.
