Flatiron School Celebrates an Hour of Code With the World

Posted by Flatiron School on December 3, 2018

At Flatiron School, we see firsthand how much impact code has on everyday life — our alumni have coded their way to improved careers that match their life’s passion. Learning to code goes beyond just becoming a software engineer, developer, data scientist, or data analyst. It unlocks opportunities at exciting companies, unlocks solutions for some of today's largest problems, and gives you the chance to truly change things. It’s today’s driving force in every industry. And that’s why we’re proud to take part in the Hour of Code to help raise awareness about code and computer science.

The Hour of Code is an hour-long learning session surrounding code. It was started to end the fear, uncertainty, and confusion surrounding computer science and programming languages.
This year, there are over 50,000 events in 180+ countries to teach code during Computer Science Education Week (all ages are welcome and you don’t need a technical background to participate in a local event).

As part of the Hour of Code, Flatiron School’s inviting everyone to our campuses in New York City, Brooklyn, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Houston, Seattle, and London. We’ll have some incredible opportunities to learn alongside our expert instructors and students. You’ll also learn more about what it’s like to attend an immersive coding program.

O top of that, Flatiron School’s launching a new scholarship: The Lifelong Learning scholarship. Starting at $1,000 (£1,000), the scholarship covers our Immersive Software Engineering Bootcamp and Immersive Data Science Bootcamp.
ts been our mission to enable the pursuit of a better life through education. One way to do that is by giving passionate students the ability to change their careers and lives.

W ncourage anyone who has a passion for code and wants to launch a new career in tech to apply by Dec. 21, 2018 for the Lifelong Learning Scholarship.
