Flatiron School is Founded
In 2012, Flatiron School was founded by Adam Enbar and Avi Flombaum, to enable pursuit of a better life through tech careers.
Partnership with the City of New York
In 2013 Flatiron School became the first bootcamp to partner with the government. We worked with the City of New York to create The NYC Web Development Fellowship to increase access among underrepresented groups in tech.
A New Standard of Transparency
In 2014, we became the first bootcamp to release an independently examined jobs report, setting the standard for transparency and excellence in educational results.
Remote Learning, White House Partnership, and Kode with Karlie
In 2015 we took our classroom online, expanding access to our programs.
We also partnered with the White House on the TechHire Initiative.
We also launched our first Kode with Karlie summer class for young women in high school, awarding 21 scholarships. This program evolved into Kode with Klossy and has since awarded over 12,000 scholarships.
NYC Web Development Fellowship
Flatiron School Announces the NYC Web Development Fellowship for Foreign-Born New Yorkers.
Flatiron School Celebrates Five Years
In 2017, we celebratedĀ five years by introducing the Future Founders Scholarship.
Flatiron School for Enterprise
In 2018, Flatiron School for Enterprise was introduced.
University Partnerships
In 2019, we partnered with an Ivy League university to deliver Software Engineering courses during summer sessions.
Continued Growth and Flexibility
In 2020, we partnered with moreĀ prominent universities to develop custom curricula in Web Development and Data Science.
In 2021, we added a synchronous version of our online program schedules, adding more flexibility to the student schedule and making tech careers possible for more people.
The Tech Perspective Podcast premiered in December 2021, featuring our first guest, Dr. Jacqueline Nolis.
We worked with Deloitte to create the Cyber Career Accelerator
We partnered with Amazon Career Choice, developing technical programs in Data Science, Cybersecurity and Software Engineering
Also in 2021, we were named an educational provider and talent developer for OneTen, an organization that works to upskill, hire, and promote one million Black Americans, over 10 years, into family-sustaining jobs with opportunities for advancement. We also offered the OneTen Tech Scholarship.
