About This Event

Join Flatiron School as one of our lead Software Engineering instructors demonstrates the basics of frontend web development.

We’ll start off learning how your web browser produces what you see, by taking a close look at how HTML, CSS, and JS files fit together and are rendered by the browser. Then we’ll take a look at some basic programming concepts through the lens of JavaScript, and use that knowledge to make a small interactive app we can run in the browser.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to develop a fun and interactive Rock Paper Scissors game against a computer opponent (CPU) using JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, and CSS
  • How to use JavaScript conditional logic to determine outcomes based on behaviors in the game
  • How to style the web app with basic CSS

Who is this event for?

No experience is required to attend! If you’ve had some experience with coding in general, there is still a lot to learn from this workshop. This is a no-strings-attached opportunity for you to gain knowledge and find out if software engineering is something you’re passionate about.

Just show up, and learn something new!
