Flatiron School is excited to announce that Smoothstack has committed to be an Amazon Career Choice hiring partner.
Smoothstack is a technology talent incubator that provides specific technical training for emerging talent to kickstart IT careers, and will be joining the Amazon Career Choice as a hiring partner for software engineering and cybersecurity students.
“Our mission at Smoothstack is to create pathways for diverse talent to join the IT workforce,” says Nicole Doyle, Recruitment & Engagement Manager at Smoothstack. “This initiative with Amazon Career Choice gives us the ability to do just that — to help candidates who come from diverse backgrounds to get into the IT Field who might otherwise not have this opportunity.”
Amazon Career Choice is a workforce development program, designed to upskill and retrain Amazon employees who are interested in pursuing a future outside of Amazon. Amazon Career Choice hiring partners commit to support graduates of this program with activities such as interviewing graduates and hosting hiring events to offer insights into tech careers at their company.
Smoothstack has been working together with Flatiron School for nearly 2 years, hiring their first Flatiron School grad in June 2020. Smoothstack has since hired 6 Flatiron School grads throughout the partnership.
“With this program, I hope to put as many people as we can to work in a career that will be a long term success for them,” said Doyle. “Our program provides training and 2 years of work commitment that allows a candidate to leave Smoothstack on the right track to success in an IT career.”
Flatiron School is thrilled to be partnering with another mission-driven organization like Smoothstack to get more hopeful and capable individuals into tech.
