7 Great Tech Companies Hiring in Miami

Posted by Lindsay Johnson on July 7, 2020

Over the past few years, Miami and the rest of South Florida have transformed into an innovation hub, becoming home to a number of tech startups and fast-growing companies, like Sony, Apple, NetSuite, Twitter and Uber. The city, culturally diverse and with a personality unlike any other, sits poised to become a tech center entirely unique to the New York and San Francisco’s of the world.

One reason for this? Miami sits at the international intersection of Latin American and the U.S., attracting international, corporate headquarters – and the job openings that come with them. While the city is not yet synonymous with tech as it is for its beaches and sunny weather, Miami is well on its way. South Florida just needs the tech talent.

Brett Beverdige, CEO and founder of The Revenue Optimization, explains that South Florida needs “the talent pool to increase our momentum for the long term.” Without tech talent, the future of Miami’s growth as a tech hub is stunted. According to a CBRE study of the 50 top office markets in the U.S., Miami ranked last for tech-talent growth, surrounded by Fort Lauderdale, Tampa and Orlando.

With such demand for software engineering, data science, and other tech talent in Miami and its neighboring cities, but only a small talent pool to fill companies’ needs, it’s never been a better time to learn to code in Miami. Or, if you already have the technical chops, where do you begin to choose among all the companies in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and the rest of South Florida that need tech talent?

We’ve put together a guide for where to get into a coding career in Miami and its surrounding area, based on the tech companies hiring right now. This guide breaks down seven of the most well-ranked Miami-area companies hiring right now.
