Flatiron School Launches New Campus In Seattle

Posted by Jan Cantor on September 5, 2018

Flatiron School is excited to announce the launch of our new campus in Seattle. This marks the first West Coast location and seventh Flatiron School campus. We look forward to joining Seattle’s rich tech history and enriching the diverse community.“There are so many great companies all in need of top tech talent in the Puget Sound region and Flatiron wants to ensure that local Seattleites have the resources, training, and support they need to fill those jobs,”  said Adam Enbar, CEO and co-founder of Flatiron School. “Our mission is to enable the pursuit of a better life through education, and that means ensuring this local community can fuel this growth by learning to code.”The new campus will be located at WeWork’s 1411 4th Avenue location.

Flatiron School’s Seattle campus will host our signature Immersive Software Engineering Bootcamp, which has already helped thousands of students start their careers as software engineers. In just 15 weeks, students will learn how to think like a software engineer using real developer tools.  In addition to the Immersive Software Engineering Bootcamp, the Flatiron School Seattle campus will be home to the Immersive Data Science Bootcamp. This will be the first campus to host the Immersive Data Science Bootcamp outside of our flagship New York City campus. Students will gain the skills they need to get the “hottest job” in America in 15 weeks.

The Flatiron School Seattle campus continues our mission to improve access to education. We want to create tech communities that reflect the diversity of voices within the cities themselves. One way to eliminate these educational barriers and better serve underrepresented communities is through scholarships. All students enrolled in the first cohort will be eligible for a $5,000 inaugural scholarship. We’re also offering scholarships through the Women Take Tech initiative with Citi and Opportunity Hub (OHUB), each providing up to $1 million in scholarships for students across the country. To date, Flatiron School has awarded more than $10 million in scholarships to diverse populations, helping to bridge the gap by making technology education more accessible for women and underrepresented communities.

The launch of the Seattle campus marks the sixth location since WeWork acquired Flatiron School in October 2017 (Note: Flatiron School is no longer a part of WeWork). Seattle joins Atlanta, NYC, Brooklyn, Washington D.C., Houston, London, and our online campus. We’re hosting several exciting events and panels as part of the Flatiron School Seattle campus launch. These events will include an open house at WeWork 1411 4th Avenue, an Intro to Coding workshop, and a launch party. All of our events are free and we look forward to seeing you at one soon!
