When you think of going to a coding bootcamp full-time, it’s fairly easy to picture your daily schedule on campus: classes, a lunch break, more classes and lectures. But what happens when you choose to study full-time online?
Jenny K., a full-time data science student in Flatiron School’s Online Data Science program living and learning in Oregon, shares her daily schedule, detailing how her full-time learning schedule comes to life as an online student.
Jenny’s Daily Schedule
5:00am – 6:30am: I wake up, read the news, eat breakfast, and get ready for the day.
6:30am – 8:00am: I check my email and any unread Slack messages and then start studying and reviewing lessons.
8:00am – 10:00am: After individual time studying, I check-in with my instructor and classmates on Slack, then go back to studying.
10:00am – 11:00am: I log into study group to get any questions answered and work alongside my cohort!
11:00am – 12:00pm: Afterwards, I break for lunch and, sometime take a small nap.
12:00pm – 4:00pm: I go back to studying and lessons on Learn.
4:00pm – 5:30pm: I log off to either work out or relax after a full day of learning.
6:30pm – 9pm: After, I eat dinner, watch some TV, and hang out with my partner before bed.
