About This Event

What are firewalls and why do we need them? Join Flatiron School as one of our lead Cybersecurity instructors gives us the lowdown on this and much more. They’ll demonstrate the basics of firewall configuration and teach you how to set up your own firewall using pfSense.

What You’ll Learn

  • A basic understanding of what firewalls are and how they work as a defense against cyber-attacks
  • What are the basic types of firewalls and their difference
  • How to set up your own open source firewall using PfSense

Who is this event for?

No experience is required to attend! If you’ve had some experience with cybersecurity in general, there is still a lot to learn from this workshop. This is a no-strings-attached opportunity for you to gain knowledge and find out if cybersecurity is something you’re passionate about.
