At Flatiron School, we regularly survey our alumni to understand their career journeys after graduation better. The following insights are based on self-reported data from students who accepted a job in the last 12 months (from July 2024 through June 2025).
Highlights
- 83% of respondents who reported their compensation change said it had increased since graduating.
- Alumni reported career moves across a wide range of industries and job functions, with significant representation in software engineering and data science roles.
- Many respondents reported remote or hybrid work arrangements, reflecting ongoing flexibility in the tech job market.

Among respondents who provided compensation change, 83% reported an increase in compensation.
Self-Reported Salary Changes
The average change in annual compensation was an increase of over $17,000 for 38 graduates who self-reported their compensation before and after attending Flatiron School.
By Program
Software Engineering: The average change in annual compensation was an increase of over $16,000 for 24 graduates who self-reported their compensation before and after attending Flatiron School.
Data Science: The average change in annual compensation was an increase of over $18,000 for 11 graduates who self-reported their compensation before and after attending Flatiron School.
