Overview

University students are increasingly focused on obtaining skills that will prepare them for the job market. Flatiron School brings its industry-leading technical curriculum, learning management platform, and job-placement programs directly to universities. Flatiron School’s programs are designed to provide job-ready skills for students both inside university undergrad/grad communities and outside students. Flatiron School provides universities with the technical components to build course offerings and the training to deliver these courses in-house. Once implemented, universities are equipped to own the end-to-end course operations, thus enabling them to capture increased student revenues. 

How We Collaborate

As opposed to outsourcing technical training programs, Flatiron School’s partnership model empowers universities to take on incremental aspects of the course operation.

University's Role and Responsibilities

University stakeholders identify key priorities in designing and implementing the program offering. Universities collaborate with Flatiron School to implement the technology, handle the class operations, and launch the program. Upon program launch, the university is fully empowered to deliver the end-to-end student experience and is able to retain the majority of student revenues. For areas universities aren't equipped to handle, Flatiron School is able to assume additional responsibilities.

Online or In-Person

Flatiron School has been teaching in-person for eight years and online for over four. With expertise in both formats, universities can choose to bring whichever format they see the most opportunity.

Online

With Flatiron School online learning platform, learning online is engaging and effective. Students lean away from long video lectures and work mostly through interactive lessons online.

Available Programs

Flatiron School teaches industry-aligned curriculums in software engineering, data science, and cybersecurity. All of our classes are modular allowing for different lengths depending on the needs of the university.

Data Science

From Python to Machine Learning, our data science training program gives students the breadth and depth needed to become a well-rounded data scientist. The course has a suggested length of 15-20 weeks for full-time students and 40 weeks for part-time students

Software Engineering

Our software engineering curriculum is designed to take complete novices and turn them into employable junior software engineers. The suggested timeline is 15 to 20 weeks full-time or 40 weeks part-time. All courses are designed modularly and can be shrunk or expanded to fit university needs.

Object-Oriented Programming

Get comfortable with object-oriented programming and Object Relational Mappers.

SQL

Dive into the fundamentals of programming, starting with SQL.

Ruby

Work with two Ruby tools, mastering the fundamentals of web programming.

JavaScript

Gain a thorough understanding of JavaScript and functional programming — crucial for front-end developers.

React

Learn to build productive, scalable front-ends with React.

Redux

Create slick, functional, reactive code with Redux as a state manager.

Group Projects

At the conclusion of each program module, students will build advanced portfolio projects on a team to demonstrate both their new technical skills and creativity.

Solo Projects

After completing four curriculum modules focused on group projects, students collaborate with their instructors to conceive a solo project and spend three weeks building it. Students will receive plenty of instructor feedback along the way while diving deep into the various advanced technologies and/or techniques needed to bring their concept to life.

Cybersecurity Analytics

Flatiron School's Cybersecurity Analytics curriculum will prepare students to handle rapidly-advancing threats. Students will set traps and catch threat actors with real-world lab environments paired with industry-grade curriculum. This course prepares students for careers as a tier 1+ SOC analyst, threat intel analyst, security consultant, or compliance analyst. The suggested length for this course is 12 weeks for full-time students. All courses can be shrunk or expanded to fit any university schedule.

Network Administration

Students will be exposed to network security, protocols, and attacks, which are foundational concepts to cyber careers.

System Administration

Foundational to a cyber career, students will learn basic skills in system security, desktop OSs, and service configuration.

Strategy and Analysis

Students will learn to anticipate threat actors through the psychology of analysis, criminal psychology, and threat intelligence.

Security Intelligence and Event Management (SIEM) Administration

This module spans the course and will teach security monitoring, threat identification & response, and crisis management.

Hunt Skills

Learn to effectively work with teams and tools while learning threat identification, surveillance, data, and tracking.

Threat Intelligence

Learn threat intelligence, creation, and consumption, which are absolutely core to an analytics career.

GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance)

Students will learn to engage the enterprise, deliver system security, and develop plans and policies.

Capstone

Through a culminating capstone project, Students will demonstrate applied knowledge from all of the Cybersecurity Analytics modules.
