Frequently asked questions

Is there an application deadline for the Access Scholarship?

The Access Scholarship is an ongoing program, and there is no application deadline. Scholarships are awarded on a monthly basis, and 35-50 are available each month across all campuses and online.

Are all the courses the same across campuses?

Each Flatiron School course uses identical course curriculum and structure regardless of location or modality. For example, our Software Engineering curriculum and structure is the same in New York as it is in Denver.

Are there prerequisites to apply to Flatiron School?
  • While there are no prerequisites to apply to our courses and we welcome beginners, we recommend exploring our free prep courses. For example, if you’re interested in software engineering, we recommend Coding Bootcamp Prep. Flatiron School's blog is another great resource to familiarize yourself with careers in tech, learn more about our courses, and hear from our alumni about their experiences.

  • The first step is to fill out a written application. Once submitted, you should hear back from our Admissions team on the next step within 2 business days.

  • If your application is chosen to move forward, you will be invited to schedule a video call with a member of the Admissions team to get to know you better.

  • Upon admission and enrollment, depending on the course, you will be sent instructions for how to access “pre-work.” Pre-work is a prerequisite to starting certain on-campus courses. There is no required pre-work for online courses.

Students must be over the age of 18 to apply to our courses and must have obtained a high school diploma or GED.
